Professional depigmenting treatments are designed to reduce the appearance of various types of hyperpigmentation, including dark spots, age spots, melasma, and other forms of uneven skin tone.

Treatment Process

  • Purpose:  Treatment is primarily aimed at lightening and reducing the visibility of pigmented areas on the skin.
  • Mechanism of Action: The treatment typically involves the application of specialised depigmenting agents to the affected areas of the skin. They work by inhibiting the production of melanin (the pigment responsible for skin colour) and promoting the shedding of pigmented skin cells.
  • Treatment Customisation: The specific formulation and approach of the treatment may vary based on the type and severity of pigmentation, as well as the individual’s skin type and needs.

Expected Results

  • Reduction of Dark Spots: Treatment can lead to a noticeable reduction in the appearance of dark spots, making the skin look more even-toned.
  • Improved Skin Clarity: It can help improve overall skin clarity and brightness.
  • Treatment of Melasma: This treatment is also effective in addressing melasma, a common skin condition characterised by brown or grey patches on the face

Procedure Overview

  • Procedure Time: 15 to 30 minutes
  • Downtime Required: Depending on the treatment, downtime could be up to 10 days. For the first 3 days post an intensive treatment the skin will be red, swollen and warm and then peeling will start. Peeling and dryness can be expected for up to 7-10 days. Sun exposure is to be avoided throughout the downtime with an SPF to protect your skin and your results.
  • Results Duration: Results can be in as little as 2 – 8 weeks post treatment depending on skin condition and concerns. Maintenance of pigmentation may be needed due to external and internal factors.
  • Cost of Treatment: $125 -$1600
